Courtney teaches electric bass (4,5 and 6 string) as well as upright bass.
Courtney has been playing and performing on electric and upright bass for over 30 years with experience in rock, jazz, blues, country, bluegrass, funk, fusion and improvisation. Starting at an early age on piano, he continued by playing clarinet and percussion in Junior High and High School along with bass and upright bass in his high school jazz band and college jazz bands. His friendly demeanor is perfect for beginners to more advanced students. You can currently find Courtney playing at many of the local jams sessions as well as with his current bands; Buffalo Sons (blues rock trio), Deluxe (improvisational jazz/fusion), Midnight Grass (bluegrass) and Wasted Hearts (americana/folk).
